The LISD Office of Communications kindly request your support for our upcoming Annual Belle of the Ball Prom Program. As we prepare for this special occasion, we are collecting formal and semiformal gowns for our young ladies and Tuxedos and sports coats and ties for our young men to provide them with memorable attire for their prom night.

If you have any gently used formal or semiformal dresses, Tuxedos and sports coats and ties that you would like to donate, we would be immensely grateful for your contribution. Your generosity will directly impact the lives of our students and help make their prom experience truly unforgettable.

Congratulations to our mariachi program Mariachi Los Tigrillos de Oro. They competed at the TMDA mariachi state competition in San Antonio Texas.

Christen Middle Mariachi won two Outstanding Middle School Singer medals.

Congratulations to Christen Middle School's Luis Delgadillo for being named LISD's March Student of the Month. The LISD Student of the Month is sponsored by Laredo Federal Credit Union, Chick-Fil-A Marketplace on Bob Bullock, and Laredo Orthodontic.

Congratulations to the Christen Middle School Symphonic and Concert Bands! They competed at the annual UIL Concert and Sight Reading competition this week and earned a SWEEPSTAKES! BOTH BANDS got 1st division ratings, the highest rating a band can get, from ALL 6 judges! All your hard work has paid off! Special shout-out going out to those students that had to juggle after school practices and events between band and other things such as athletics, mariachi, and tutorials etc...
Once again Christen Middle School was very well represented at this year's competition.

Over the weekend, our students earned 1st place among all middle schools in the district, an outstanding accomplishment that reflects their hard work, focus, and determination.
Our teachers and staff are incredibly proud of each and every one of these students for representing our school with excellence.

Laredo ISD Special Education Department hosted the 2026 Special Olympics Texas Area 21 opening ceremony and games at historic Shirley Field. Special education students from Laredo ISD, Jim Hogg County ISD, Webb County Consolidated ISD and Zapata County ISD participated in a variety of events. Each student received a medal for every event they participated in.

Congratulations to our Mariachi program for representing Christen Middle School and LISD at the Festiba Mariachi Festival in Edinburg, Texas. Students learned music taught by Grammy winner Mariachi Los Camperos from Los Angeles, California. Competed in the Vocal Semi Final and brought 3rd place with Mikayla Villarreal, and Ashley Melchor represented us with pride in the vocal competition as well. Mariachi students also did an outstanding presentation competing against the best middle school of Texas, showing our Christen Cub Pride. Mariachi students ended the Festiba Mariachi Festival enjoying a gala concert by Mariachi Aztlan from UTRGV and Mariachi Los Camperos.

Congratulations to our Mariachi Los Tigrillos de Oro member Mikayla Villarreal. Mikayla competed at the UTRGV Festiba Vocal Competition Semi-finals at Edingburg, Texas and won 3rd place in the middles school division. Also congratulations to Ashley Melchor for being a Semifinalist for the Vocal competition. Que Viva el Mariachi!
