Nixon High School Girls Soccer Program received a donation from Academy Sports and Outdoors on San Bernardo Ave. Academy Sports and Outdoors presented the Nixon Girls Soccer team with a $1500 gift card that allowed the team to purchase equipment and accessories they need for the upcoming season. The NHS Girls Soccer team thanks Academy for their support.

LISD to host Specialty Schools Open House
Laredo Independent School District will be hosting its annual Specialty Schools Open House at each campus for eighth grade students and their parents on Saturday, November 11, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The seven specialty schools will open their doors to the community and invite eighth grade students to tour the campus and apply for admission for the 2024-2025 school year.
The event is aimed at recruiting students who may be interested in attending any LISD specialty school for the 2024-2025 school year. The seven early college high schools and magnet school include the Business, Industry, and Public Services Early College Academy at Nixon High School, Sabas Perez Early College High School at Cigarroa High School, Dr. Dennis D. Cantu Health Science Early College High School at Martin High School, Hector J. Garcia Early College High School located at Texas A&M International University, Pathways to Technology Early College High School at Cigarroa High School, Agriculture, Food, & Natural Resources (AFNR) P-TECH at Martin High School, and the Vidal M. Trevino School of Communications and Fine Arts Magnet School.

LISD releasing students at Nixon High and Trevino Magnet School
Due to a water line break in the Meadow area resulting in low water pressure, the Laredo Independent School District is releasing students at Nixon High School and the Trevino Magnet School today, Tuesday, November 7, at 12:30 p.m. The City of Laredo expects the water line to be repaired within the next several hours.
ATTENTION MUSTANG COMMUNITY: Due to water issues, Nixon HS will be releasing at 12:30.
